Privacy Policy

Honexa ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through honexa.co.za, how we use it, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information We Collect
- Contact form: the name, email address and message you submit.
- Orders: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address (or collection choice), the items you order, the order total and payment method. We never see or store your card details; card payments are handled by PayFast.
- Order tracking: the order number and email address you type in to look up an order.
- Security records: short-lived counters tied to your IP address, used only to stop automated abuse such as password guessing and form flooding.
We do not collect personal information about visitors who simply browse the shop, beyond the anonymous usage and performance statistics described below.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to your enquiries, to process, deliver and support your orders, to keep the financial and tax records the law requires, and to protect the site against abuse. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for third party marketing.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: one that remembers the contents of your shopping cart, and one that keeps staff signed in to our back office. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third Party Services
To run the shop we rely on the following providers, which process limited data (such as your IP address) as part of their service:
- PayFast, to take card and instant EFT payments.
- Vercel, which hosts the website and provides privacy-friendly page-view statistics (Vercel Web Analytics) and page-speed measurements (Speed Insights). These do not use cookies and do not build profiles of individual visitors.
- Supabase, which hosts our database (data centre in Ireland).
- Formspree, to receive and forward contact form submissions to us by email.
- Couriers, who receive the name, phone number and address needed to deliver your parcel.
Some of these providers store or process data outside South Africa. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA. We recommend reviewing their own privacy policies for details.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry. Order records are kept for as long as South African tax and consumer law requires, generally five years, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, staff accounts are protected with strong passwords and optional two-step sign-in, and access to our database is restricted.
Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you, and to object to how it is processed. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
